Australia is no longer in contention for the 2010 Boccia World Championship trophy, with all three finalists losing their knock-out final matches.

In the BC1 class, Sydney-sider Barry Fear lost 8-0 to Ireland’s Padraic Moran.

Australia's Para-cyclists continue to impress ahead of the UCI Para-cycling World Championships being staged in Canada in August.

2009 World Champion Sue Powell and 2004 Paralympic silver medalist Claire McLean have both won the time trial in their respective divisions at a Para-cycling event in Piacenza, Italy recently.

Federal Minister for Sport Kate Ellis has paid tribute to the contribution of outgoing Australian Sports Commission Chair Greg Hartung.

Mr Hartung, President of the APC, officially completed his role with the ASC on April 4 and also retired as Chair of the Australian Sports Foundation.

The annual Desert Duel took place from April 24 - May 6, and saw 60 participants and Paralympic medallists Chris Mullins and Julie Smith complete the fun-filled epic trip while raising money for the APC.

Beginning in the NSW town of Cowra, the 10th annual Desert Duel touched the ACT before venturing back through NSW, onto South Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland. The Duel then travelled back into NSW before finishing in Mudgee in the state’s Central West.

It is hard to believe that David Hall once struggled to make his mark on the wheelchair tennis world. Thrilled to be on the 1992 Australian Team competing at the Barcelona Paralympic Games, Hall dreamt of medal glory in his first Paralympic appearance.
