Bio

Steve Graham is the head coach of the Australian Paralympic Committee’s Winter Paralympic Program.

Steve began his coaching career in 1985 and first gained a role on the Australian Paralympic Team ahead of the Albertville Games in 1992. In the years that have followed, he has helped shape Australia’s Winter Paralympic Team into one of the most formidable in the world.

Under Steve’s tutelage, the Australian squad continues to evolve into a Paralympic skiing force, highlighted by their performances in 2009 when the team took sixth position at the IPC World Championships in Korea. During the championships, two of Graham’s athletes emerged with world crowns.

The squad are now looking for further success at the 2010 Winter Paralympic Games in Vancouver.During his rise as a world-class coach, Steve mentored a young man in the early 1990s named Michael Milton, who went on to become Australia’s first ever Paralympic or Olympic Winter medallist, and Australia’s most successful Winter Paralympian.

He was appointed Head Coach of the Australian Paralympic Committee’s Winter Paralympic Program in 2003, and will attend his fourth Paralympic Games in Vancouver.

Away from Alpine skiing, Steve enjoys going to the beach, doing pilates, watching sport and spending time with his son.
